Description
U.S. Army XM28 gas mask and carrier in excellent condition. The development of the XM28 mask began in 1966 when the 1st Cavalry Division requested a compact lightweight protective mask for use by combat personnel in forward areas. The 1st Cavalry and 1st Infantry Divisions tested the new masks in 1967 and whilst the XM27 was quickly rejected because of its bulk, both units accepted the XM28.
