Description
This is the very rare snout-type M8 Gas Mask used late in WWII by the Army to supplement the short supply of the somewhat unsatisfactory M5 assault gas masks. The M8 was manufactured from existing supplies of the limited standard M2 gas masks with an updated M4 gas mask C15 exhalation valve.. This mask, in fact, has a Firestone molding date of 10-42, long before the M8 mask was introduced (see image below). The mask and M10 carrier bag are in good overall condition and the mask still has the face form in it indicating that it was probably never issued. Gas Mask comes complete with carrier and in very good condition.
